As a representative of CommonwealthCasino, a Eastern Benacia-based company owned by Malliki Tosha, Erik Mortis, and other shareholders, I would like to make the following announcement:

I am donating CommonwealthCasino's shares in Antica Casino to the Church of Aryez (or Arya?). That way, when people bet, the money will essentially go to charity. One, to the government of Aryez, and two, to the Church of Aryez.

If the Church of Aryez (or is it Arya?) does not accept the shares, then I donate them to the Republic of Antica Treasury Ministry.

Regards,

Thank you. We will accept your donation. We also request you donate some money to the government of Antica.

I will donate some, but not so much as to impede the operation of the game.

Gambling is no sin in moderation and even in excess, the collective sins of the gamblers are redeemed by donating that money to a good cause. Since all things are god, even gambling is god.

Gambling is something approaching a time-honored tradition in some religious circles. Catholic church picnics are charming examples of this. The gambling goes well with all of the alcohol.

Wait- couldn't this reasoning easily be used to justify, say, the Crusades? Lots of money to be had there- and if it all goes to religious organs, why the heck not? So long as we don't kill too many Moslems. After all, all things are god, merciless slaughter included. Just read the Bible. Especially OT. Lots of smiting going on back there.

Phineas, it seems like you are taking this as if Aryezi is even somewhat close to Christianity, which it isn't.

Donating the shares of a Casino to a Church? Hmm.
